Greenways wins NRH Award 2022

We are proud to say that we have been given a National Railways Heritage Award for our work in opening Tidenham Tunnel, and wanted to share this with those of you who helped make it possible.

The Chairman of the Awards organisation invited us to apply earlier this year – having personally been instrumental in our receiving the Railway Heritage Trust grant for £100,000 that paid for the lighting and surfacing and contributed to the cost of the bat licences too.

The award is specifically for the Translink structures award “For the successful restoration, modification or adaptation for new use of any historic railway or tramway, civil engineering structure (this would include bridges, viaducts, tunnel portals and permanent way works, but not buildings) in any ownership”

If you want to know more this is a link to the NRHA website http://nrha.org.uk/

You all know that this would not have been possible without the huge amounts of work put in by so many. Thank you to all of you.
