This 1km length of old railway linking the Shepton Mallet playing fields with Ridge Road was funded by Mendip District Council. It has been made possible with the support of the Duchy of Cornwall who owns the land. The 2022 Greenways Workcamp undertook the fencing and built much of the signature drystone wall. Local volunteers led by Steve Turner cleared the route and now manage it.
The map above includes The Sidings and West Shepton Bridge Link crossing the B3136 to the East.
Historic Railway Estate of National Highways own the bridge whose arch under Ridge Road leads the route westwards towards Wells.
